"V" the series 30 years later....

It is hard to believe that it is going to be 30 years in a few days that "V" the Sci Fi mini series/series was on the air.It all started with the mini series in 1983. This is still my favorite series of all time. It probably always will be. I am to "V" as Treki's are to Star Trek. It is more the good trying to battle evil. It is about trying to figure out who you can trust. Lizard or human, the lines can be crossed! I have been very lucky when it comes to this series. I know that might sound weird. I have been lucky in the sense that I have been able to meet Kenneth Johnson. I got to spend a few hours with him when he was talking to a bunch of college students a few years ago. It was a great honor to meet the man who created such a piece of my childhood. This was one of the highlights of my life so far. I also got to meet Marc Singer. I met him when I was in college. I talked to him for only a few minutes, in of all places a mall. I wish I had a pen and paper. I didn't get his autograph. I got to meet Andrew Prine at all of places a fair. He was very nice and gave me his autograph. I found out that the red dust was made out of, of all things ground up carpet! I found that very interesting. The last member of the cast that I have been lucky enough to meet was the Supreme Commander himself Richard Herd. He was a very nice man. I got his autograph also. I have many books, that are about this series. I have a total of four "V" dolls. I even have one still in the box. It does have a ton of damage to it, but I still love it all the same. I have no clue why this show made such an impact on my childhood and even my life. All I know is that I am sure I will love it until I am well into my eighties! My dream is to meet as many cast members as I can. I hope you have enjoyed me talking about "V" that it makes you want to go rent a copy of the Final Battle, the mini series and the series.

If forever comes By A.l Jackson is coming out in September 2013!!

I am so excited the sequel to Take this Regret by A.l Jackson is coming out this September! If you have not read any of her books. I really hope you start reading them! I would start with "Lost to You" it is the start of the Christian and Elizabeth story. It starts off with them meeting in college. Then you should read the second book "Take this regret". It continues their story five years in the future. You will learn to grow and love these two characters! The final book in this series is called "If forever comes" This book will be out in September of 2013. You can find her books on ebooks. Barnes and Noble.com or Amazon.com I also read "Pulled" by A l Jackson. This is a different group of characters. I promise you, this is one author you will want to read more from. I have not yet read "When we Collide". It is on my TBR list. I know I will love it as much as I love her other books!!

Having one of those mornings.

I am having one of "those" mornings. You know the one's I am talking about. The ones where you just want to crawl back into bed. I am thinking it has something to do with the chinese food we had last night. I am feeling it might of had MSG in it. I am not in the mood to do anything today. Also is it me or do there seem to be more annoying commercials these days? Advertisers seem to think if they put obnoxious or rude children we will want to buy their products. I for one would not buy these products because of the children. Some of them don't have a point or a reason to them. I know they want you to talk about their products, but all you end up talking about is how rude or obnoxious these kids are!

The Girl in 6E- Book Review E-Book

The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre, is one of the Best books I think I have ever read in my life. It was well written, sexy, intense, and has more then one plot going on. It starts out with a girl I call her a girl since she is only 19 years old. who lives in a apartment who web cams for money. Her name is Deena/Jessica. She never leaves her apartment. The only people she depends on is a neighbor and a UPS guy. You learn about her, her clients and other interesting characters along the way. She knows people's deep dark secrets. She has some of her own. This book was so riveting I could only read it a few chapters at a time. I kept wanting to read more but I had to have it all sink in. I loved how she learns about her neighbors without even meeting them. I give this book 5 Stars! I would give it more then 5 Stars but I only rate on a 1-5 Star basis. This a mind blowing, heart raising book!

Having a very good morning.

I am having a very good morning. Why am I blogging about this you ask? I am blogging about it because those seem to not happen very often. I don't know why. I don't ask for to much. I booked us a great room at one of our favorite hotels in Vegas. We had booked another hotel for our trip. One that I like, but it does not have bath tubs. I like to soak in a bath on vacation. Our apartment only has a shower. I got an email this morning and called to book immediately. We are going for the Naughty Mafia Rocks Vegas convention. That is for independent authors to meet their fans. I love romance and erotica as some of you know from reading my blog. I am interested to see how much fun Jeff has when I am talking romance novels with authors I like. I am also starting a new hat for my wonderful and sweet friend Erika. I have not knitted her a hat in awhile. I was on a chemo hat kick. I just finished up my 10th hat to send out in a bunch for Knots of Love a great charity that gives hats to people undergoing chemo treatments. I will be making more for them in a few weeks. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Is Facebook and Twitter the new way to judge popularity in today's digital age?

Have you ever wondered why people have thousands of friends on places like Facebook or Twitter. I am not talking about famous people IE Justin Beiber or Jennifer Lopez. I am talking about people like you and I. There is no way that you can actually know all of these people. I added people for a game I am playing, authors I like, people I found along the way that I have become friends with or shocker people I actually know. Maybe these people have all these followers or friends because they are funny, cute or have something to talk about that is mind blowing! I find it interesting how numbers for my pages go up and down. I hope I didn't offend someone on twitter or facebook. Then again, you know who your true friends are. Those are the people who will stick with you through thick or thin. If they delete me then I guess they were not a true friend or didn't care for what I had to say. That is fine with me. Life is to short to please everyone!

Rome wasn't built in a day....

Rome was not built in a day. Maybe if I put the word book blog when I started this blog I would be getting more "foot traffic". I didn't want to write only a book blog. I am a slow reader. So I decided to talk about life in general. Plus I am doing this for fun. I am not making any money off of this. So I might as well write about life and not only books. I am reading now more then I used too. So on that front it's a good thing!

I enjoy reading erotica. I hope I don't offend you because I do.

I was told today that some people that read my blog were offended by the fact I write about erotica. In this day and age it is hard not to be surrounded by things that are sexual. I am sure that most women are hiding a copy of 50 shades of Grey in their bedroom. I like to have a little spice in my reading. Yes, my blog is probably going to be more adult reading as supposed to regular vanilla romance. Don't get me wrong I love a regular romance. Some of my favorite writer's just write regular romance. I also love reading J.D. Robb mystery novels. I am not even sure if anyone is reading this. If people are reading this. I do not mean to offend anyone. I just enjoy writing about books I like. Most of them will be erotica. Have a nice evening.

Working out and not seeing any results.

I know I can NOT be the only one out there that works out 3-5 days a week for 30-60 minutes. I workout sweat do the burpies, crunches, planks, jumping jacks etc. The weight is still the same. The clothes are not fitting any looser. I am thinking that I have little devils going and sewing my clothes in the middle of the night. Also all I hear from people is change up my routine. They don't tell me what else I can do. Just to change it up. Well guess what professional trainers out there. All of your DVD's have the same stuff!!! Seriously. They are all the same except for things are in different orders! So for now. I am going to maybe do some more walking. See if that helps any.

Show of hands, Or should I say mouses....

I am just curious How many people are reading my new blog? Where are you all from. How you shown my blog to anyone? I am new at this and am trying to figure out my way around the blog world. Does anyone have any ideas how to get the word out more about my blog? I have tried Twitter and Facebook. I am not sure if doing a giveaway is a good idea. I don't want people to just sign up for the giveaway only. Read the giveaway then never come back again. Any idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support.

Worth The Risk- ebook by Anne Lange

Molly and Tanner are college sweethearts. One day out of the blow, she looks at him and says she wants to move on. Mind you this is after they get physical. I thought that was a VERY guy move on her part. I was like is Molly the woman or the man in this situation? Go forward ten years and a group of friends all get together for what do you think, a wedding? a baby shower? NO they get together to go camping!!?? You get to know abit about these two people. The thing that annoyed me was the constant back and forth over 10 years. Sorry but I like to read in the present. Or start in the past and then continue in the present. Not the constant back and forth. Molly first ignores Tanner, then it seems they are making out in the next few pages. We of course find out later in the book, why she broke up with him. They end up later dealing with the past and will have have a future together. I thought it was an ok book. I am not sure if this would be at the top of books I would recommend. I thought it had an ending that was sweet. I About half way through I was getting more into the book. So I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Master of the Mountain by Cherise Sinclair- Book Review

Master of the Mountain by Cherise Sinclair is by far one of the best books I have read ever. I Love that there is a writer out there who knows how to write a BDSM book. This book is about Rebecca and Logan. Rebecca goes away with her boyfriend for the weekend to a resort owned by Logan. Her boyfriend tells her before they leave that this is a swingers event. Rebecca is pretty much told come with me see how it is. If she didn't go then he would of dumped her right on the spot. Rebecca goes because she feels this is the only way to save her relationship. When Rebecca and her boyfriend arrive he is welcomed with open arms and she is pretty much pushed into the back ground. Logan sees that Rebecca is pretty much off by herself. He stands back and watches her from a far. One thing I love about this book is that Rebecca is not a twig! She is a BBW! I love that Cherise Sinclair, has written a book that a huge majority of women can relate to with the female lead. A woman who is not always comfortable in her skin. Logan talks to her a bit. Logan and Rebecca get to know each other after Rebecca gets thrown out of her cabin by her boyfriend. Logan takes her back to his place that is on the top floor of the lodge. Let's just say the book gets very hot from there. I don't want to give anything away. Logan has issues that he needs to deal with. He is a Vet and is dealing with PTSD. Logan's brother pretty much tells him he needs to get some help but Logan isn't sure if he wants too. Watch as Rebecca and Logan learn about trust, love and starting over! I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great BDSM romance novel. I give this book 5 stars!!!

Accesories for my new phone.

I must really be behind the times. I used to just have my phone be a phone. You know what I mean. Pick it up at the store then bring it home and use it. Now all of a sudden you look around and people have Bling on their cases. Designs, sparkles and favorite tv characters. That makes me think. Maybe I can find a Sponge Bob case. So yes, I did end up going to the dark side this morning. I bought a few cases for my new phone. I have a feeling that Jeff will say something. Then again, I need a case for when we go to Vegas and dress up. So I got a black and silver blinged out case. Then I got a cute light blue and white polka dotted case. My third case is pink and white with flowers on it. I know I really only needed one. The prices were to good to pass up! I got three cases for less then twenty dollars! They were practically giving away the cases. The only thing I had to pay for was the shipping. I am sure I will find a few more online. My phone will be ready for any occasion! I have a feeling my phone will look cuter then I do!

Soap how I can't get enough of your soapy goodness!! What companies and soaps I recommend!

Lately, I would have to say over the past four or so months, I have been in love with different types of soaps. Different companies and smells. I would say a huge majority of these places are independent people trying their hands at a new fun way to make money. I try to support independent people as supposed to huge companies. I would love to share with you some of the great companies I have found on Facebook. Also some of the scent I have liked from these companies.

I have found a company called Peace Love and Bath Products. They are located in Seattle Washington. She has some great sugar scrub soaps that I love. I love the Georgia peach, Mango Paradise or Milk and Honey. This is a small company. I try to support smaller companies as supposed to places you can find anywhere. You can find them on Facebook.com or Twitter.

I also enjoy a company called Bath Bombs or www.Bath-a-Licious.com I love the smell and feel of the Strawberry 'N' Cream soap! They sell bars of soap, but they also have bath bombs. I have not tried the bath bombs yet. I have a ton of them, but we don't have a tub. So I have to wait until we go on vacation to use them.

I found a place on a bidding site, Their name is VTwiccan. They sell all natural soaps. They are located in Rutland, VT - sorry I don't have a website for you or Facebook page.

A store on Etsy.Com that I like is called Smellicious Soaps. They have bars of soap that don't have any fragrance. One with fragrance that I love is called Spring Dream Cucumber Melon. It looks like there are real cucumbers in the bar. I am not sure if they are real but it sure looks like it. It smells amazing!!

A great little shop you should visit if you ever get to Las Vegas is called Sweet Bubble Bath Confections. Luscious Handmade Soap. They are off the strip. Not to far off the strip only a few miles. Google them or find them on Facebook.com. It is well worth the trip! I tried Coos Bay and their Lavender scented soaps. They smell amazing! They also have one very cute thing, I have not seen anywhere else. They have soaps that look like desserts. They would look very cute in a guest bathroom.

Another place in Las Vegas is Basin White in the Venetian shops connected to the Palazzo Hotel. It is a must stop for any soap lover!! I have tried the pink Sugar bar soap. OMG is it amazing. It smells so great! Also if you love vanilla as much as I do try the South Pacific Vanilla! They also have scrubs.

One store I think I found on Facebook but I am not totally sure is called Taryn's Treasures (www.tarynsbathtreasures.com). She has a great Oatmeal Soap, which both Jeff and I love. She is also a company that sells shave soaps. Jeff has tried hers and says he would use it again.

I hope this group of wonderful soap shops will have you wanting to stop buying run of the mill dial and zest. Trust me they are not much more money then stuff you buy at the grocery store. Plus they will have you smelling so good you will get compliments from people around you!

Giveaway Ideas to help get the word out about my new blog.

Does anyone think I should do a Giveaway to try to get more readers??? How about if I do a Giveaway for a knitted beanie or a free E- book from an author that would be kind enough to supply a free e-book. I would maybe do this once I get 100 readers. What do you guys think???

When a man is to lazy to fix a fitted sheet.

This morning I look at the bed and say to Jeff, the fitted sheet is off the bed. Jeff decides to inform me that I can fix the sheet. As if he is to busy to do this activity. It would cut into him getting dressed for work. I go and fix the sheet. Being told in the process that if I had put it on correctly yesterday, this would of not happened. Then instructed how to put on a fitted sheet. Once the fitted sheet is back on the bed, Jeff makes sure to tuck a corner under the mattress. Which in my book defeats what I just did. Hence he should of just fixed it in the first place. Uggh Men! Can't live with them, can't ask them to fix a fitted sheet.

Salvaged by Chelsea Camaron- Book Review

Salvaged by Chelsea Camaron is an amazing book. It is a bitter sweet love story between Brayden and Maggie. Maggie is a sweet young woman who is in love with Brayden. Brayden is dealing with his troubled past. Maggie does not know that Brayden pretty much has put her whole world into a tail spin. Thank Goodness for her best friend Dina and Dina's boyfriend Ryder. I wanted to kick Brayden's butt. This guy Brayden seems to think that by not answering his phone everything he caused would just go away. Maggie is a warm kind soul who does not give up on Brayden but gives him time to prove to her that he has worked on his issues. I loved how Maggie and Brayden had true friends in Dina and Ryder. That not everyone walks away when you are in true need. The way that Maggie's family treats Dina like another daughter as supposed to just being Maggie's best friend is truly touching. I am glad that Chelsea Camaron addressed some real hard issues in this book. Grief, loss, love, trust and the power of friendship and family. I also enjoyed the love scenes. I will be reading her other books. I recommend this book and this writer 100%. I give this book five stars! I have to say I think I will be reading this book again! I can be a picky reader, This book made me want to root for Maggie and Brayden!! I am one happy reader!! This book can be purchased on Amazon.com
Julie Young is a great author and needs your support for her facebook page! Go check her out! OK folks, this page needs some more "Likes" and my character needs a name! I hate writing NAME TO BE DETERMINED where their name is supposed to go. Help me out people...spread the word. Help get me to 400 Likes and give my poor character a name!!! www.julieyoungfreelance.com

Laundry, Laundry and a bit of sweat!

I have to say for two people we have a ton of laundry. I have done three loads today! There are only two of us! Plus one load of hand washing. I also did an abs workout from one of my Jillian Michaels dvd. They make those moves look so easy on the dvd. I swear sometimes it looks like they don't even break a sweat!! I did break a sweat! :) I also weighted myself and guess what I lost another 2 lbs!!! OMG!!! I am going to try to finish another book today and put up another review. Then tonight I will be completing another men's chemo hat for the amazing charity Knots of Love!

Funny Thoughts and other things......

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? Where is Waldo? How do we get to Sesame street?  How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? I wonder if the children of my generation and the one after it are wondering these questions today.

My guess is that Carmen San Diego and Waldo are hanging around Sesame Street licking tootsie pops. Trying to figure out  how many licks it is going to take them to get to the center.

To quote the Bangles, my second favorite group of all time. Toad the wet sproket is first. Manic Monday I wish it was Sunday. That's my fun day!

Today's activities will be super exciting NOT.  Laundry, working out and seeing what other lovey chores need to be taken care of around the house.

More writing later, when I get inspiration. Also where did my reader from South Korea go. I miss you. I loved that you were kind enough to read my blog.

Book Review- Chica Bella by Carly Fall

Chica Bella by Carly Fall

This book was not written very well. There seemed to be a run on sentence on every page. Did the author have and editor or a proofreader? Landon is a Navy Seal and wants to get out of the Navy. He had left the girl he seemed to love without word, seven months before.Maya works at the resort he had previously stayed at.  Maya seems to be mad at him. Then all is forgiven and she sleeps with him. As if nothing happened.

I also felt the writer just strung words together to make the book longer. For example as supposed to saying he climbed seven flights of stairs. She goes on another drawn out run on sentence.

I didn't care or feel for these characters. They didn't seem to have any depth to them. I would have to say this was a book that I would not recommend. 1Star out of 5.
Talk Me Down by Victoria Dahl

This is the story of Molly Jennings and Ben Lawson. She writes erotica and he is the police chief. She ends up receiving her aunts old house in the will. So she moves to a tiny town in Colorado. From the way the author talks about it, it has one stop sign and not much else.

Molly  seems to start getting threats. Then who does she turn to of course the hero of the book. She is not sure who it could be. Maybe a guy who couldn't take no from her past.

This book is about getting back to friendships and life. I enjoyed the story line of these two main characters. I even liked the characters that she puts in to have the story move along. The only thing I have to say is that I pretty much knew who  threatens Molly from the first chapter.

I would suggest this book because it is fun, and it made me laugh. I am going to be reading other books by the author in the future.

Riding Wild

I usually LOVE Jaci Burton's books. This one I couldn't get into. I am sorry I thought the plot was outlandish.

Lily a private eye/cop staking out a museum. Then she just happens to spot a motorcycle. Who is the rider of this motorcycle? It just happens to be the guy who broke her heart 10 years earlier her ex boyfriend Mac.

Who now stole something from the museum that she is supposed to steal herself. They get shot at and go on the run.

Find out later that someone is trying to make the world "sick". For what else Money. Way to many characters to keep track of.( that really had nothing to do with the whole plot in my opioion.)

I would read Riding Temptation which is later in the series. A much better book in my view. Every author has a few ugggh books. Sorry this was one of them.

Twitter

I am now on Twitter you can follow me at RobynRosenberg@twitter.com

This is so exciting. I hope you guys are liking the blog as much as I am enjoying writing it. Are you following my blogs on here? I do appreciate the support.

New Cell Phone

I got a brand new cell phone yesterday. It is a boost mobile phone. I am now trying to figure out how to upload apps. How to use the apps and how to use the phone. I got myself a twitter account. I still can't believe that my name was not taken. That kind of is shocking. Since I know there are at least 10 other people with my name on facebook. I can't wait to start tweeting! That is going to be fun. Of course it says I can only follow 5 people. Is this true? I thought you could follow tons of people. Can anyone out there let me know please. Also are you guys reading this posts? I am only getting comments on the first one. Can someone give me an idea if what I am writing is interesting or funny? Would you like me to write about a topic? More later, it is still very early and Jeff is still sleeping!

Friday, April 19, 2013

I am so excited! I have to say I had a really good day today. I don't seem to say that very often but today was nice. I finally have a new phone! My old phone was not working anymore. The buttons kept sticking. This meant I couldn't even make phone calls. That is sort of like having a car that does not have any gas. Or a pen that doesn't have any ink. Jeff was so sweet and waited when I checked out phones.

Then we went out for a little dinner. When we got home we watched one of my favorite old tv shows, Cold Case.

Tomorrow I will be adding apps to my new phone. :) So does anyone know how to follow my blog yet? Thanks for leaving comments and reading. More tomorrow, I promise!

Take This Regret

I also wanted to do a book review this morning! I am reading a wonderful and romantic book by A.L. Jackson. The book is called Take This Regret. You can find it on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble. It is the wonderful story about Christian and Elizabeth. I suggest you read Lost to You, ( First) Lost to You is the story of Christian and Elizabeth in college. Read Lost to You first before you read Take This Regret.

Lost to You is the story of Christian and Elizabeth who are going to college and are both going to be lawyers. They meet when they are put together for a study group. It shows how two people from different types of families can fall in love.

After you fall in love with them in Lost to You. I know you will, go read the wonderful book Take this Regret. This is another book about the same two characters. Christian and Elizabeth. This book Take this Regret jumps ahead in time by five years! They will make you laugh and cry. I swear I wanted to deck Christian! This is NOT a book that has smut. These characters you will feel as if they are your friends. In both books Christian has to deal with his parents who to me are cold and way to demanding. I am sorry if I am not giving to much away. I want you guys to go read these books.

Read from April 17 to 19, 2013
format Paperback
updates
review I loved this book so much. I loved the way you really got to feel for Elizabeth. How you wanted to yell at Christian at times for being an idiot. I loved how Elizabeth had a wonderful support system of friends and family. How little Lizzie warmed your heart. I really enjoyed this book. It is nice to have a writer who makes full characters and lets you get to know them. I also enjoyed that it was a nice book.I mean that it isn't filled with tons of sex. I seem to come across that a bit more often these days in just regular romances. 5 stars all the way!! I will be suggesting this to my friends! (less)

This is my review from Good Reads!

I promise you will love them as much as I do!

A.L. Jackson's other books are Pulled and When we Collide. I have not read When we Collide. I will be reading that next!

Then I am so happy that her next book, Come to me Softly is coming out in Book Stores on January 7th 2014!!!! I know this is going to be an exciting book!!!
I need a NEW cell phone. The phone I have now is over three years old! The buttons stick and I don't know how to text with the weird keyboard they have! I need a touch screen. I also need a camera so I can take pictures for my blog! :) Jeff is no help when it comes to cell phones. His phone is what school children probably dig up in their school time capsule. I am looking into maybe a samsung SGIII. Does anyone have one of these? Do you like it? Please let me know.

Trends in books

Good Morning! Thank You in advance to anyone who is kind enough to read my blog. If you can let me know that you are reading my blog, it would be greatly appreciated! I might be writing about more then one topic a day! So keep checking back! Feel free to leave comments!

First off, I hope you are all happy and healthy. There have been many horrible things that have happened this week. It is very sad. I don't see why people need to hurt each other. Whatever happened to do no harm. Love thy neighbor?

I have decided that Today's Topic or first Topic, is going to be book related! Hello all my writer friends and authors out there!!!

I am starting to think that there is ONLY one last name out there for male characters in books. Would you all like to know what this name is? I will tell you in a minute. The other "trend" I am seeing is that before a millionaire was a bit much to read about, but now it is billionaires in romance novels. Whatever happened to the guy next door?? I don't know about my fellow readers out there, but I like to read about a guy I can see flirting with me over produce at the grocery store.
Back to the male characters last name. The trend seems to be Montgomery!! I kid you not! I have either picked up or read about 10 books over the past year with names like Colt, Shane, Gray that all have the same last name of Montgomery! That is another note, whatever happened to first names like Greg, Eric,Brad or my personal favorites, Gil and Kyle!???  Give normal everyday guys a chance! Otherwise these poor guys don't have a shot in books!

I think this is all for now. I will probably write more later today!

Intro

Hello to everyone out there is cyberspace. As you can probably figure out my name is Robyn. I have decided to write a blog about my life. How I feel, or the things that are going on in my life.

I am a 39 year old woman. I am engaged to a man named Jeff. I love to knit and I am an avid reader. I also have to confess I am addicted to Facebook.

I am not a "writer" so you have to bare with me. I will be talking about many topics! Anything from an author I like, to my joy of knitting chemo caps for the great charity Knots of Love.  I am hopefully going to be typing once a day. Sometimes maybe more then once. I would love to have a few readers. If not that is OK. I am mostly doing this for me as a type of therapy.
